The motto for this big-boss challenge was #SHMUPMUSIC.
Being down with the sickness recently (and preparing to move house and thus music-making tools), I've been less than productive recently. Which meant I took the opportunity today to do this, because:
Today is the second anniversary of my submitting something for @MusicWeeklies!
So why "A-Type"?
First of all, I dimly remember an old shmup that seems to be sold still today for current platforms called "R-Type". And I wanted to not make chiptune/8-bit/16-bit sound, but something with a purely acoustic ensemble (well, a faked one). Acoustic ensemble, A-Type, get it? ;)
Musically, there's a lot of 80s Hancock/Laswell collab inspiration happening, and all in all, it's nothing to write home about - but to submit on your own anniversary.
